    Asharqia Chamber of Commerce and Industry held the productive families' exhibition "Sanaati 2018," which was established for five consecutive days under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Region.

    The exhibition took place at Dhahran Expo in the presence of about 25 thousand visitors, with the participation of 320 productive families, and it concluded on Thursday (December 13th).

     

    High turnout

    The exhibition was held in order to provide marketing windows for the products of the productive families from the Eastern Region and provide them with income through the sale of their products in places that are designated for each family.

     It has received great demand from both participating families and associations as well as visitors, who praised the offered products in the field of handicrafts, decoration, accessories, clothing wool, perfume, spices, food and sweets.

    Many people expressed their great happiness in the festive atmosphere of the exhibition.

     

    An extension of success

    The Chairman of Asharqia Chamber, Abdul Hakim bin Hamad al-Ammar al-Khalidi, said that the great success achieved by the exhibition combined several factors.

     The first is the support of the Prince of the Eastern Region of the initiative (Sanaati) since its inception in 2015, and all the initiatives and programs of Asharqia Chamber.

    Secondly, the businessmen of the Eastern Region offer great support to the exhibition and their keenness on its success and continuity.

    The third is the team of supervisors and volunteers who spare no effort to achieve success.

     

    Developmental balance

    Al-Khalidi pointed out that the exhibition of productive families this year has attracted a great number of visitors and that it has been an extension of the success of previous versions.

    He expressed his happiness with this great demand for the products of the productive families, which indicates the quality of the offered product that confirms - without a doubt - that these families in the way of entering a world of entrepreneurship.

    Al-Khalidi stressed the great role played by the productive families' sector in providing jobs especially for women.

    He pointed out that it is an important sector in achieving the developmental balance, with its great capacity for operational absorption, as well as its role in promoting the participation of people with special needs and women in production, which leads to a sense of psychological satisfaction. This is in fact reflected positively on the society.

    This is why Asharqia Chamber is continuing to support these families by helping them to become entrepreneurs.

     

    National options

    Al-Khalidi predicted that the sector of productive families in the Kingdom will reach the ranks of the main sectors in the national economy as many countries in the world such as Australia, whose sales in the home craft industry grew by more than 100%.

     He pointed out that it has become a sector that comes on the list of national options for good leadership and there is a package of changes that will positively affect the rise such as the Cabinet's approval of the executive regulations to regulate the work of productive families and the transfer of its program to the responsibility of Vocational and Educational training for women from the Agency of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development of Social Security to the Social Development Bank.

     

    Undersecretary of the Eastern Region visits Sanaati 2018

    In a related context, the exhibition witnessed the visit of Eng. Essam Al Mulla, the undersecretary of the Eastern Region for Reconstruction and Projects.

    He and a number of mayors and the President of Asharqia Chamber and Secretary General toured through its wings and expressed admiration for the diversity of exhibits and products that included the exhibition and the characteristic of quality and skill.

    He praised the good organization of the exhibition and the coordination and arrangement of its wings.

    He congratulated Asharqia Chamber for its role in carrying out the exhibition and producing it professionally.

     

    The exhibition was also visited by a number of members of the Board of Asharqia Chamber, Nasser bin Abdul Aziz Al Ansari and Nasser bin Rashid Al-Bajash, who toured the various corners of the exhibition.

    They expressed their happiness at the exhibition and the heritage products presented therein.

    They stressed that productive families are playing a large role in the national economy.

     

    In addition, Shuaa al-Duhailan, the head of the Women's Affairs Committee in Asharqia Chamber, visited the exhibition accompanied by the members of the Committee, who walk in various corners and briefed on the exhibits.

    She said that the productive families have already been promoted within the national economy, due to the vision of the Kingdom of 2030, which was launched with the aim of mobilizing all sectors to be added value in the national economy.​
